VeriFactu is the new invoicing system introduced by the Spanish Tax Agency. Under the new regulations, invoicing software must generate secure, tamper-proof records that can be verified by the Tax Agency.
The system will become mandatory for companies from 1 January 2027 and for self-employed individuals (autónomos) from 1 July 2027. While these deadlines may seem a long way off, changing your invoicing procedures should not be left until the last minute. Adopting the system early will give you time to become familiar with the new process and avoid unnecessary disruption to your business.
At our office, we have been using VeriFactu since October 2025, making us one of the early adopters of the system. In addition, all of our self-employed clients have already migrated to VeriFactu and are using it successfully. Thanks to this practical experience, we know exactly how the system works and how to make the transition as smooth as possible.
Our advice is clear: start using VeriFactu now rather than waiting until it becomes compulsory. Early implementation means fewer problems, a smoother transition and the confidence that your business will already be fully compliant when the legal deadlines arrive.
If you would like assistance with implementing VeriFactu, our team will be pleased to guide you through every step of the process.
